While the number of people forcibly displaced by conflict, violence and oppression is increasing each passing day, Turkey has been impacted by this process and come to be among the countries hosting the largest numbers refugees in the world.
From April 2011 until now, the refugees who fled the war in Syria and sought shelter in Turkey – their numbers increasing daily and approaching 4 million – have started to transform from being “Turkey’s temporary guests” to becoming permanent constituents.
Well then, what are the Syrians – who since 2011 have been the topic of a great deal of national and international research and projects – experiencing in Turkey?
As the beraberce Association, aiming to contribute to building a life of coexistence and equality, we listened to what the largest refugee population in Turkey – the Syrians – had to say and created short videos from it.
What do the targets of hate speech, those who have been turned into the scapegoats of the various economic and social problems of the country, our “unwanted guests,” experience in Turkey?
