Together, life is beautiful!
The beraberce Association believes that the concept of “living together” is achieved through producing together and embraces the task of developing active and equal citizenship through building local cooperation and supporting collective decision-making processes. Taking “Together, life is beautiful” as our primary slogan, we at the beraberce Association decided to bring our idea of ‘living together in peace’ to life.
We organize the “Living Together Festivals” with this perspective, aiming to rethink the relationship that migrant societies build with their neighbors and the cities in which they live through the concept of “living together.”
Concerts given by musicians from different regions and whose music and art is instilled within our memories; film showings; and the workshops and forums organized by our friends – organizations and individuals whose philosophy is also living together in peace – all serve to enrich the contents of these festivals. Moreover, the festivals provide the space for migrant communities living in the city to share their social and cultural values through displaying their art, literature, cuisine and other socio-cultural products.
These festivals, which are held in Istanbul and other provinces and municipalities in which migrant communities are concentrated, calls all people of the city – including migrant communities – to a platform where everyone can have a voice and to create together, share their creations and be in solidarity with one another. We will continue to grow and expand our spirit of unity that is present within the food cooking in our kitchens, the melodies touching our hearts and the steps of our folk dances.
